Common questions about DVARA pricing

Is the Open Source distribution free to use?

Yes. DVARA Open Source is Apache-2.0 and free. It is the lean distribution: no Fleet, no MCP, no A2A, and no managed deployment operations.

What does a licence add?

For Enterprise, a licence adds production rights and support and removes the limits of an install without one: 3 workspaces and 100,000 governed calls a month. Every feature, including Flightdeck and the MCP and A2A planes, runs in Development without a licence.

How much does a production licence cost?

Launch is $750/month (annual), Scale is $1,500/month (annual). Launch includes 2M calls/mo; Scale includes 5M. Higher volumes are sold through sales.

What counts as a governed call?

One LLM request, MCP tool call, or A2A task/message is one governed call. An MCP tool call a policy denies, and any call refused by a licence limit, is not counted. All three paths share one call pool. Stream chunks, retries, failovers, health checks, admin APIs, and Flightdeck do not add extra calls.

How is usage measured on self-hosted plans?

Your installation counts every governed call in its own database and never sends usage data to DVARA. Flightdeck's monthly usage report gives the month's governed-call total, which your agreement's included volume and any overage are measured against.

Is pricing per node, pod, or installation?

None of those. Pricing is by governed calls. One licence covers an installation: Flightdeck and every Gateway pod, with unlimited users, providers, gateways, and environments. There are no per-node, per-pod, or per-workspace keys.

What if different departments need their own installation?

Talk to sales and we will quote it. Many organisations run one installation with a workspace per department, each with its own policies, budgets, and chargeback, under one licence and one call pool.

What happens when I use more than the included calls?

Traffic continues. Overage is billed at Launch $200/M and Scale $150/M; Managed hosting overage is set in its agreement. There are no per-seat, per-model, or per-provider fees.

Can I evaluate the full platform before buying?

Yes. You can run the full Enterprise platform in Development without a key, including MCP and A2A, within 3 workspaces and 100,000 governed calls a month. Ask for a 30-day licence for production-like evaluation without those limits.

What happens after the pilot?

The pilot ends on day 60 and does not renew. DVARA keeps running under the free non-production terms. If you sign an annual Enterprise licence within 30 days, the full pilot fee is credited against your first year.

Does DVARA phone home to check my licence?

No. License validation is local. DVARA does not require a callback or mandatory telemetry, so air-gapped and strict residency environments are supported.

What is the difference between self-hosted and managed hosting?

Self-hosted means you run DVARA in your environment. Managed Dedicated means DVARA runs an isolated cluster for you by region. Both are Enterprise, not shared SaaS.

DVARA Open Source is Apache-2.0 licensed. Enterprise licensing covers production use and support, and removes the 3-workspace and 100,000-call limits of an unlicensed install.
